“Christopher, an extraordinary young man, discovers the slain body of his neighbor’s dog. Determined to find the killer, he embarks on his first-ever excursion, carefully following the evidence wherever it leads him. His detective work takes the young hero on an exciting journey brimming with adventure and discovery that ultimately transforms his world.”
The sound design and score explored subtlety of texture and the overpowering of senses as it relates to autism and neurodivergence. The direction for this production focused on Christopher’s quest and the classic hero’s journey. The score for this production was part composed directly for this one, part re-orchestration of my score for Pioneer Theatre Company’s version in 2017, and part heroic music pulled from production music libraries. It is definitely interesting to note that the show was almost fully scored and designed from beginning to end.
